Questions families ask us

Is Nommo only for people who have passed away?
No — Nommo is built with you, while you're here. It's a gift you create in life: many families use it today to stay close across distance, and it remains for the generations after.
How do my chosen people talk with my nommo?
Exactly the way they talked with you. You invite them to your circle, and from then on they simply write or send a voice note on WhatsApp — or open the Nommo app if they prefer. There's nothing to install, configure, or learn. They ask, and you answer: in your words, and when they want it, in your voice.
Who decides who's in my circle?
You do — always. You choose who can reach your nommo, and what each person can hear: what you share with your children may differ from what you leave for your grandchildren.
Could it say things I never said?
When you've spoken about something, Nommo always uses your real words first. When you haven't, it draws only on the portrait of your values that you reviewed and approved — and it's honest about the difference. You can correct or remove anything, at any time.
How is my data protected?
Your memories are stored encrypted on infrastructure we control, with encrypted backups so nothing precious can be lost. Recordings are transcribed on our own machines. Where we work with AI partners to generate replies, they are contractually barred from training on your data. And you can export or permanently erase everything, at any time.
What happens to my recordings and data?
They belong to you, full stop. Nothing is sold, shared, or used to train anything outside your own nommo. You decide what remains, what is shared, and what disappears.
Why only 30 families?
Because we'd rather do this profoundly for a few families than superficially for many. Every founding family works closely with us, and every portrait is reviewed with care — that doesn't scale fast, and we don't want it to. We choose families by intention: when you request an invitation, we ask who your nommo is for, and we read every answer ourselves.
How does the voice work?
From your own voice notes, we create a faithful voice that reads Nommo's replies aloud. It's used only inside your family circle, only with your consent.
